How do I book a study room?

Answer

Overview: The Oregon Tech Library manages three private study rooms located on the second floor of the Learning Resources Center (LRC). These rooms are available to Oregon Tech students, faculty, and staff for individual or small group use.

Reservations

  • Study rooms can be reserved in 2-hour blocks, up to twice per day.
  • Reservations may be made up to one week in advance.
  • Users can reserve a room in person at the Library Help Desk or online through our Spaces to Study and Collaborate page (select your campus, then choose the room you’d like to book).
  • You’ll be asked how many people are in your group when reserving.
  • Reservations are held for 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. After that, the room may be reassigned.
  • If you need more time, check with the Help Desk at least 10 minutes before your booking ends. If no one else has reserved the room, you may be able to extend your time.

Check Out Procedures:

  • Study rooms require a key, which you can check out at the Library Help Desk with your Oregon Tech ID.
  • Keys should be checked out just before your reservation begins. The person who checks out the room key is responsible for following study room policies, maintaining the security of the room, and returning the key promptly at the end of the reservation

Use Policies

  • Study rooms may be reserved for a maximum of two (2) hours at a time.
  • Rooms are available for use by Oregon Tech students, faculty, and staff.
  • Please keep conversation and presentation volume contained within the room.
  • Study room keys may not be taken outside the building.
  • Clean the room before and after use to maintain a shared, respectful space.
  • For privacy reasons, the Library cannot disclose who is using or has used a study room.
  • Do not hang posters, notes, or other materials on walls or windows. (Some whiteboards are magnetic.)
  • The Library is not responsible for personal items left unattended.
  • Do not block or cover any part of the windows or doors.
  • Library staff reserve the right to enter rooms at any time.
