What's the difference between the library catalog and the databases?
Answer
Put very simply, the library catalog is where you search for items that the Oregon Tech Library owns-- print and electronic books, DVDs, calculators, maps, and much more. You can begin searching the catalog using the search field on the Library homepage.
Databases, on the other hand, are platforms the Library subscribes to that provide access to collections of scholarly articles, reports, conference papers, and other materials from journals, magazines, and newspapers. These are your best tools for finding peer-reviewed research and subject-specific information. A list of each database the Oregon Tech Library subscribes to can be found on our A-Z Databases page.
