I'm a new faculty member, where do I start?
Answer
Welcome to Oregon Tech! We're excited to support your teaching and research.
Here are a few key resources to help you get started using the library:
- Library homepage: Your gateway to research tools, databases, and services. It's a great starting point for exploring what we offer.
- Library Resources for Faculty: An overview of how the Library can support your work, including teaching, research, and resources.
- Research Guides: Subject-specific resource guides curated by librarians. These include helpful tools for your students and contact information for your library liaison. Your liaison librarian is your go-to person for everything from purchase requests and instruction to collaboration and outreach—don’t hesitate to reach out!
- Instruction Request form: Assigning a research project? Request a librarian-led session tailored to your course. Topics include research strategies, information literacy, assignment-specific resources, and more.
- Course Reserves request form: Make course materials easily available to your students by placing them on reserve. We accept both library-owned and personal copies (which will be returned at the end of the term).
And that’s just the beginning! We’d love to talk more about how we can support you and your students. Contact your liaison librarian, click the Submit a Question button on this page, or email us at libtech@oit.edu—we’re here to help.
